Salt dough ornaments
Making salt dough ornaments this morning — messy but fun! I did notice the whole wheat flour we used had a best-by date of April 2008. Guess it's been a while since I baked bread.
Joseph had been begging to make salt dough and I put it off until... Christmas day. Easiest recipe ever: 4 cups of (super-expired) flour, 1 cup of salt and about 2 cups of hot water (keep adding until it gets to dough consistency). Stick it in the oven at 325 degrees for 45 minutes so it dries and hardens.
