Presents
Let's face it, I spoil Joseph 365 days a year. So when there are only three presents for him under the tree, he is totally fine. Actually, he was totally fine after opening the first present; he was so over the moon we could have stopped right there.
A Corvette! Someone was a good boy this year.
Joseph was so thrilled. All day long, he would sidle up to me and say, "你看! (Look!)" and hold out the car like it was brand-new all over again. Or, tuck it underneath his arms and coyly ask, "猜猜看這裡有什麼? (Guess what is here?)" Yep, "Santa" hit it out of the ballpark with this one (which really isn't that surprising considering Joseph and I picked it out together at Costco).
I also got Joseph a baby doll. As a former little girl and baby doll connoisseur, I can tell you this is The Baby Doll of baby dolls. Joseph loves the doll too, and goes to upstairs to bed clutching his Corvette and baby. He's rocking the baby, feeding the baby, playing hide-and-seek with the baby -- all good practice for being a big brother -- but he's also dropping the baby on its head a couple of times a day. Baby steps.
