Hot hot hot days with no AC, the silver lining is long walks after the sun goes down, way past bedtime. We really live in the most beautiful neighborhood.
Staying at One Lakeside, Coeur d’Alene
Our first time in Coeur d'Alene and we agreed, it's even better than Seabrook! A last-minute cancellation meant we got a surprise upgrade to a 3-bedroom unit at One Lakeside. Incredible views of the lake, a full chef's kitchen, and each of us got our own room.
Five hour drive home. We pulled over on the side of I-90 to get some wiggles out. Our evergreen mountains never looked so good after driving through this stretch of the state.
Poke in the Eye at the Seattle Art Museum
I went in search of AC, and found a relief and a fun exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum. There's a toilet in the gallery!? They have old school rotary dial telephones throughout the exhibit for kids to listen to. The art is colorful and playful. Bonus: Kids under 14 are free at SAM.
Tamale road trip
We went in search of the famous Los Hernandez. This tiny place in the desert in central Washington won a 2018 James Beard Award. The tamales were delish and the people couldn't have been nicer.
‘Home Beyond Earth’ exhibit at the Museum of Flight
It's one thing to land a cool traveling special ex, it's another to design your own from scratch. The new "Home Beyond Earth" exhibit at The Museum of Flight was done in-house and it is SUPER COOL. The best part is making your own interactive passport. Anytime you can turn a learning experience into a video game, that's a win in my book.
