- Has to sound good in Chinese. I knew a little boy named "Aaron," and his Chinese parents called him "A-lun." I can't listen to a lifetime of accent-butchered names, so no r's, th's, etc. allowed. "Joe" and "Paul" are both easy to pronounce in Chinese.
- When your last name is Grygiel, you have to go with something fairly straightforward. Otherwise you wind up with a name like JiaYing Grygiel. 😉
