Saw this article later about bargains and freebies at the Fair, and wow, we managed to hit most of them. New York State Fair
I've never been to Washington's State Fair, but we hit the New York State Fair because it was really close by (in Geddes), cheap ($1 for my adult ticket, $6 for parking) and fun (see below). We did the fair on the cheap: no crazy rides, and $1 hot dogs and $0.25 chocolate milk. We spent more money on feeding the animals than ourselves.
