It took 6.5 hours in the car, but we made it to Paradise! We never got more than 400 yards away from the visitor's center, though. Once my kids realized "hiking" involved lots of walking uphill outside, they were over it. At least now I feel like I've done my duty as a PNW parent. Every time Rainier is out, I can say, "See that?
