Gingerbread village
My friend came to visit and helped us build a gingerbread village! Theoretically it's a children's activity, but it took this child plus two adults, and even then, we just barely managed to get all the houses upright. It probably would have helped if we'd let the buildings dry and harden before decorating them, but three-year-olds are all about instant gratification.
My friend squeezed some frosting numbers onto the buildings for my number-obsessed little boy.
I gave Joseph a mixing bowl of flour and salt, thinking we'd make some salt-dough ornaments together. He had a terrific time digging his fingers into the flour and spraying it everywhere. But as soon as the dough was reading for cutting, he lost interest and wandered off to make some license plates. Gah! That little-kid attention span.
The finished gingerbread village, with two frosting snowmen!
