Joseph earned his first trip to the ER yesterday. He slipped at Big Howe and smashed his face on a metal part of the jungle gym. I was hysterical (all that blood gushing out of his face!) but Joseph weathered it fine. He got a couple of stitches on his chin and some drugs that made him wobbly and giggly. He got to watch TV at the hospital, and I let him eat bunny crackers for dinner! Joseph was so brave and all the nurses said he was a good boy. Update: Less than two weeks after our inaugural visit, we were back at the ER. Joseph fell off his scooter and split his chin open again in the exact same spot. Amazingly, he woke up in the morning his normal happy playful self. We keep this up and he'll have a built-in Halloween costume. Stitches, round two, here:
