The first and last time I went to Discovery Park was 2009. Back then, it was no big deal to walk 1.5 miles from the parking lot to the beach where there are no restrooms. It's much trickier with two little kids. Parents: park at the visitor's center, let the kids play in the interactive exhibits and use the restrooms. The shuttle stop is just outside, and riding the mini school bus was just as fun as the beach. We accidentally color-coordinated with the landscape!
