Chens in Seattle
The three of us Chens got together in Seattle this summer for sightseeing and eating. Now we're in our 20s and 30s, but that sibling dynamic hasn't really changed that much and now there are two little ones to add to the mix. Here's a couple more from our week or so together:
We took Xuan 妹妹 to the most famous spots in town. Photographic proof she's been to Pike Place and Kerry Park, not that she cares too much! 🙂
This has been the summer of the stay-cation for us, so we splurged on a ride on the Great Wheel. Now every time Joseph sees it in a picture or out the window from the viaduct, he squeals, "摩天輪!" Note: it is impossible to get a picture on that thing, and they hustle you out of the gondolas pretty quickly. But I love Joseph's face. He's super nervous and super excited.
A 90-degree-plus day and an unexpected spray park in Burien. Later, as we were having snack, another little boy showed up to run through the water in his underwear. I'm glad I'm not the only unprepared mama!
We always get a little carried away at conveyor belt sushi. It's the thrill of the chase, plus that salmon is so tasty!
Someone is really into himself... We were reading "The Name Jar," so I had a name stamp made for Joseph too, from Taiwan.
Until next summer!
