Center for Wooden Boats Sunday sail
Beautiful day for sail around Lake Union! Our Center for Wooden Boats guide was really knowledgeable and told us a bunch of interesting facts. Like the toxic sludge at Gas Works Park was covered over with sawdust and human waste. Then tomato plants started growing there... because the seeds survived intact in the poop. And people ate those tomatoes at Gas Works.
Also, Lake Union is the most beautiful landfill ever. It used to be when you didn't want something anymore, you threw it into the lake. So 40 feet down is a bunch of old cars, boats, trash.
And that scene in "Sleepless in Seattle" where it's pouring rain? Actually that was fire boats shooting water at the floating home.

The smallest houseboat on Lake Union (with red flowers). VERY cozy.
