We did a quick overnight to Alderbrook Resort — that's about the closest I get to "the wilderness." Our first day was soggy, but the lake was so pretty with the mist rising from it. The next day it cleared up enough for us to take a "hike," and we even saw a rainbow. As much as they loved the hotel pool, the kids had a grand time in the big bathtub in our room! On the drive, we crossed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. My first time! Reminded me about the clip we watched about Galloping Gertie back in high school physics.
