D.C.: Ford’s Theatre

Slightly creepy but very fascinating: Ford's Theatre, the place where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. The site is run by NPS, not the Smithsonian, and they do a great job. Ford's Theatre is still a working theater!

The box draped with flags is where the Lincolns were sitting.
The Petersen house across the street is the boarding house where Lincoln died. He was so tall they had to put him diagonally on the bed
