New Mt. Rainier-themed playground in Kent

If it seems like I am always going on and on about Kent, it's because Kent is KILLING it in terms of creative new playgrounds.

The latest, Van Doren's Landing Park, just opened last week and it is a Mount Rainier-themed playground!

What you should know:

🗻 There's a mini-Mount Rainier for kids to climb, with three slides.

🗻 Kent's first zipline!

🗻 New restrooms, parking lot, bike trail, picnic shelters. What more could you want?

🗻 The picnic shelters are designed to evoke the hop kilns from Kent's heyday in the hops industry.

🗻 The ship structure is another nod to Kent history, when boats on the Green River ferried product to Pike Place Market.

🗻 The entire 10-acre park was moved to make room for a salmon habitat.
