I waited TWELVE YEARS for a mom's night out, and Rasai did not disappoint. 7-course modern Indian tasting menu in Fremont; each course was exquisite. I LOVED it all (especially the 2 hours uninterrupted to complain about husbands and kids). Next mom's night out hopefully won't be another 12 years.
st course: Coffee tart, chutney emulsion, sev, yogurt globule, pomegranate served on a WOODEN HAND.
nd course: Yellowtail tuna ceviche, spiced yuzu, coconut, radish, onions, serrano, boondi croquante
rd course: Pulled short rib taco with cashew dum sauce, pickled onion, serrano, cilantro. The sauce came in a painter's tube.
th course: A palette cleanser. Solkadhi sorbetto, coconut chia, mint & green chili gummies. The smoke bubble was fun.
th course: The main course. Halibut moilee, scallion congee, zucchini, crunchy garlic & pistachio crust, curry leafaero podi
th course: Saffron & cardamom crème fraiche, raspberry pate de fruit, almond cake, olive oil powder, wild berry fluff with a spritz of edible perfume
th course: Popcorn truffle with popping candies, fennel, anise, mint, rock sugar. Like a chocolate fizzing whizzbee a strong fennel taste. Visually, a brown ball, so here's a picture of the beverage pairing instead.
